  • Kindergarten: The deadline for Kindergarten (4 and 5-year-olds) applications is October 31. Our Kindergarten classes (K4 and K5) are set by December of the previous academic year. However, late applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

    Grades 1 – 6: The Priory accepts applications all year round, one year before entry.

  • Kindergarten (K4 and K5): Families will be notified of the time for their child's individual and small group interview and assessment. The assessment determines "academic fit" and program readiness by observing the following developmental areas: Math and English concepts and social play.

    Grades 1 – 6: Families will be notified of the time for their child's individual interview and assessment. Academic evaluation (Confidential School Report, Report Card) and social observation during a classroom visit will determine program readiness.

  • The Priory welcomes students who may not otherwise be eligible for English education in the province of Quebec. As the school is independent and does not receive government subsidies, applicants are not required to have a Certificate of Eligibility. The Priory can provide instruction in English to any child, regardless of the parents' origins or language.

  • The Priory School is committed to supporting our community through our Bursary Program, which is specifically designed to assist current families who have been with us for at least one full year and are experiencing temporary financial hardship.

  • The Priory welcomes international students. To help students who do not have a foundation in English or French, The Priory offers an after-school language acquisition tutoring program to bridge the language gap successfully.

    The language support program may involve an additional cost.

    Learning specialists also work with small groups of students, during the school day, who need additional language support.

  • The Priory Kindergarten program (K4 and K5) is designed to provide an intensive start to French language learning. Language instruction is 50% English and 50% French in Kindergarten, with two full-time educators. From Grades 1 to 6, the language instruction is 65% English and 35% French. Students receive daily instruction in French across a variety of subject areas.

    French classes are taught daily by French language specialists, and Art, Social Studies, and Physical Education programs are also instructed in French.

    In Grades 5 and 6, there is an option for a personalized pathway for French Mother Tongue.

  • From Kindergarten through Grade 6, Priory students have numerous opportunities to engage in authentic learning experiences beyond the classroom walls. These include class and cycle field trips, as well as leadership and team-building overnight trips for Grades 5 and 6.

    These experiences are designed to enhance their educational journey, promote personal growth, and foster a sense of community and teamwork.

  • The Priory School is home to approximately 180 students from Kindergarten for 4-year-olds to Grade 6.

  • At The Priory School, our 'small by design' size is one of our greatest strengths. We understand that children thrive in small group settings, which is why we are committed to offering a personalized education tailored to the unique needs of our students.

    Our small class sizes allow us to truly get to know your child, ensuring they receive the highest level of individual attention to foster their learning and growth.

    Our excellent student-teacher ratios further enhance this personalized approach:

    • 1:7 for 4-year-old kindergarten

    • 1:14 for 5-year-old kindergarten and the first cycle of elementary school

    • Half-group settings of 12 students throughout the day for senior grades

  • Yes, one of the highlights of the Priory day is a delicious hot lunch, freshly prepared each day by our own chef, in our own kitchen. Lunch hours are a time of shared enjoyment and responsibilities for staff and children alike.

  • The Priory School offers an after-school program that runs from 3:45 – 6:00 p.m., focusing on specialized group activities and structured programming led by a dynamic and energetic team of experienced animators.

    In addition to the regular after-school program, The Priory also offers a variety of extracurricular activities and a full-day Ped Day daycare service.

  • The Priory School does not offer a bus service; however, there are carpool services available. Contact information for these services can be obtained at the Front Office, and arrangements are made by each individual family.

  • The Priory takes pride in its outstanding athletic program, offering students multiple opportunities to engage in competitive and recreational sports.

    Our school has competitive, interscholastic teams, open to students in Grades 4, 5, and 6.

    At The Priory, any child who wants to play on a team gets to play, fostering a supportive and encouraging environment for all students.

    Fall Season (September-October): Girls' Soccer and Boys' Soccer

    Winter Season (November-March): Girls' Basketball and Boys' Basketball

    In addition to our interscholastic teams, The Priory offers intramural sports each term during lunch recess. These activities are open to students in Grades 3, 4, 5, and 6, providing an inclusive and fun way for younger students to participate in organized sports.

  • The Priory School strongly believes in the school-home connection and is proud of and grateful for its dedicated parent volunteers. The Priory Parents' Association meets once a month and welcomes new members with open arms.

    Priory parents are involved in many ways, including organizing and running several annual events, participating in school and classroom activities, and helping with field trips and sports games. Their involvement fosters a strong sense of community and enriches the educational experience for students.
