At The Priory School, we believe in fostering respect, understanding, and kindness within our community and beyond. As part of this commitment, our Student Council has taken the lead in creating a land acknowledgement that reflects our gratitude and responsibility toward the land we call home.

Land Acknowledgment written by The Priory Student Council

We are the diverse student population at The Priory School in Tiohtià:ke (joh-jah-geh), also known as Montreal.

We would like to recognize that The Priory is located on Indigenous lands that were traditionally cared for by the Kanien’kehá:ka (gah-neh-gah-ha-ga) Nation.

We will continue to learn about this land and its past, and we will read books by Indigenous authors.

We need your help to protect this land by recycling and by not littering.

As a school and community, we will continue to treat the land and the people who live on it with kindness and respect.
