WHY THE PRIORY
WHY PARENTS CHOOSE THE PRIORY
For over 75 years, The Priory has been true to its mission of nurturing each child's inherent curiosity, developing an enthusiasm for learning, and encouraging intellectual and creative initiative, preparing children to be responsible and self-confident global citizens.
THE IMPORTANCE OF EARLY YEARS
At The Priory, we understand that a child's earliest school years are the most important. During these formative years, we plant the seeds of academic and life skills that will serve them throughout their lives. Our environment is nurturing, secure, and attuned to individual needs, providing the foundation for future success.
ACCESSIBILITY TO ENGLISH EDUCATION
The Priory welcomes students who may not otherwise be eligible for English education in Quebec. As an independent school not receiving government assistance, we can provide instruction in English to any child, regardless of their parents' eligibility status.
SMALL BY DESIGN
At The Priory School, our small size is one of our greatest strengths. We understand that children thrive in small group settings, which is why we are committed to offering a personalized education tailored to the unique needs of our students. Our small class sizes allow us to truly get to know each child, ensuring they receive the highest level of individual attention to foster their learning and growth.
Our excellent student-teacher ratios further enhance this personalized approach:
1:7 for 4-year-old kindergarten
1:14 for 5-year-old kindergarten and the first cycle of elementary school
Half-group settings of 12 students throughout the day for senior grades
WHOLE-CHILD APPROACH
The Priory excels in meeting the academic needs of its students with an inspiring and engaging curriculum. As an extension of the family, we also address the social and emotional needs of each child. Our whole-child approach ensures that every student feels secure, engaged, known, and loved. The result is a community where children look forward to going to school and form positive memories of learning and growing: A place where "Happy Children Learn Best."
PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT
Parents are an integral part of our school community. There are numerous opportunities for parents to get involved in all aspects of Priory life, from classroom activities to school events. Our close partnership with parents creates a strong and supportive network that enhances the educational experience for our students. Their presence and participation help to build a strong, connected, and vibrant school community.
The Priory welcomes students who may not otherwise be eligible for English education in the province of Quebec. As the school does not receive government assistance, The Priory can provide instruction in English to any child, regardless of their parents eligibility status.
ATHLETICS AND SPORTS TEAMS
The Priory takes pride in its interscholastic sports teams, which have earned recognition for both quality of play and sportsmanship. At The Priory, every child who wants to participate in sports is given the opportunity to play on a team. By encouraging participation, we help develop a strong sense of teamwork, respect for healthy competition, and the building of character.
DIVERSITY
Founded on Catholic traditions, The Priory welcomes families of all faiths. Our philosophy is to foster an interest in, respect for, and appreciation of the diverse beliefs and backgrounds of our student body, creating an inclusive and respectful community.
