Kindergarten for 4-Year-Olds
WELCOME TO OUR KINDERGARTEN FOR 4-YEAR-OLDS PROGRAM
THE PERFECT START
At The Priory School, we believe in nurturing young minds and happy hearts. Our Kindergarten for 4-Year-Olds (K4) program is thoughtfully designed to inspire young learners within a caring, small-class environment. With a student-to-teacher ratio of 7:1, we ensure individualized attention that allows each child to thrive at their own pace.
Our innovative curriculum emphasizes language development in both English and French, helping your child become comfortable and proficient in both languages. At The Priory School, we understand the importance of multilingualism in today’s global society and strive to give our students a strong foundation from an early age. Through immersive language experiences, storytelling, songs, and interactive lessons, children naturally acquire language skills in an inspiring environment.
We use a "Learning by Doing" approach that combines hands-on activities, both inside and outside the classroom. This method helps children grasp concepts in an enjoyable way that feels natural and engaging. By incorporating real-world experiences into our lessons, we make learning tangible and relevant. Our approach ensures that learning is active and dynamic, catering to various learning styles and encouraging children to explore and discover.
Grounded in research-based teaching methods, our K4 program provides the best possible start to your child's education. We nurture both their academic growth and personal development in a supportive, engaging environment. We prioritize social-emotional development, helping children build healthy relationships, understand their emotions, and develop empathy for others.
BEST OF BOTH WORLDS
Our 4-year-old Kindergarten (K4) program seamlessly transitions into our 5-year-old Kindergarten (K5) program, creating a two-year cycle that offers the best of both worlds. Children benefit from a purpose-built learning space designed specifically for 4-year-olds, extensive facilities, and a dedicated multidisciplinary team.
Our specialized learning environments include a music room, art classroom, library, gym, and dedicated K5 facilities. Versatile outdoor areas, such as a skating rink and outdoor classroom, further enhance the educational experience. This integration ensures an enriching and diverse learning experience, fostering growth and curiosity in every child.
Our multidisciplinary team works together to help every child gain confidence and essential skills. This team includes experienced faculty, specialists in music, art, physical education, language development experts, learning specialists and support staff who are all committed to your child's success. Each member brings their unique expertise to create a support system for your child. By collaborating closely, they ensure that every aspect of your child's development is addressed in a supportive environment where your child feels loved, valued, and encouraged to explore their full potential.
SMALL BY DESIGN
As an intentionally small school, The Priory offers a 1:7 student-to-teacher ratio in K4. Our passionate and inspiring faculty provide a personalized learning experience, ensuring each child's unique personality and abilities are developed and celebrated.
COLLABORATIVE ENVIRONMENT
Our K4 program fosters a collaborative environment where children participate in activities with our 5-year-old Kindergarten (K5) students and other classes, exposing them to a variety of teaching styles and activities that broaden their learning and social experiences.
The involvement of Priory Parent Association volunteers further enriches our K4 program by contributing to classroom activities, special projects, and events, demonstrating the importance of community involvement and teamwork. This sense of community enriches the learning experience and helps our students build strong social connections.
