Our French program is designed to develop a strong foundation for biliteracy. Rooted in a plurilingual approach, it uses best practices in language acquisition to allow students to become future active participants in a multilingual society. Tailored to support children's linguistic development, our program allows students to progress at their own pace and develop strong language skills that will serve them for a lifetime.

This innovative plurilingual approach emphasizes the similarities between different languages, encouraging students to make connections within their linguistic repertoire. The Priory’s French program is designed and aligned to support the natural flow of language development, making each cycle’s focus a solid building block for the next, culminating with a personalized pathway in Cycle 3 (Grades 5 and 6). 

From Kindergarten for 4-year-olds (K4) to Grade 4, students are immersed in an enriched Immersion program that fosters a deep understanding and appreciation of the French language and culture. 

A unique feature of our French program is the option for a personalized pathway in Cycle 3 by either pursuing French Immersion or French Mother Tongue based on students’ needs and objectives.
